We offer training and education to our members so that they can exchange ideas and best practices about water – our most vital resource.  In order to transfer this knowledge in a timely manner, we require a functional and robust IT infrastructure.  Our Sr Administrator – IT Operations plays an integral part in setting up, configuring, and supporting both internal and external network infrastructures. In addition, this role develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.

Job Summary

  • Administer AWWA servers, infrastructure, and tools (on-premise and cloud) including:
    • Maintain and update configuration of Windows, Active Directory, IIS, InTune, MS365, and SQL Server in on-premise and Azure environments
    • Build and deploy servers and environments as needed
    • Ensure storage needs are met
    • Ensure appropriate backups exist
    • Ensure AWWA meets all security requirements such as PCI
  • Analyze existing networks and equipment; diagnose problems, identify opportunities for improvement; develop and recommend solutions to improve management processes, systems, and organizational results and meet business requirements
    • Ensure standard operating procedures are maintained
    • Follow change management and communication protocols
    • Enforce security policies 
  • Follow documented policies and procedures to setup, configure, and maintain firewalls, endpoint security, and vulnerability detection tools.
  • Assist with desktop/device support and Tier 1 business application support

AWWA offers flexible work schedules including an optional Flex Friday schedule and/or combined in-office and remote work schedule. 



Requirements

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in related area required.Five (5) years’ experience in similar role required demonstrating: 
  • Experience with configuration, administration, and monitoring of Intel-based servers, operating systems, TCP/IP firewalls, and Ethernet switches, protocols, and standards required 
  • Experience managing and administering Windows desktop environment required 
  • Experience managing and administering telecommunications systems required 
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level server-based applications in a service desk or call center capacity required 
  • Experience managing and maintaining Windows server environment 
  • Intermediate proficiency administering cloud-based servers, appliances, and applications required

Technical Proficiencies Required

  • Intermediate proficiency with IOS and other Cisco operating systems
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Windows server family including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy administration, IIS
  • Basic proficiency in MS SCCM, InTune, or similar tool 
  • Basic proficiency in MS SQL Server
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365

Preferred Certifications

  • MCSE, MSITP, CCNA or other technical certification preferred 
  • ITIL certification preferred 

Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. Targeted salary range is $75 - $79k and is paired with comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Immediate eligibility and vesting for retirement savings plan with 6% employer contribution and 3% company match upon hire
